During the injection moulding of materials (typically plastics), sprues – unwanted residues – remain on the product and need to be removed efficiently.
For one of our customers, we have developed a complete multifunctional laser application that is used as a stand-alone station. It is a combination of a robotic manipulator and a laser head (which scatters the laser beam) of a CO2 laser that is used in many applications – plastic cutting, metal cutting, drilling, laser marking and cutting organic materials. The laser station is easy to operate, easy to maintain and reasonably priced – all of which makes it an ideal tool for the production of plastic parts and the subsequent trimming of sprues. The station can be a stand-alone unit or it can be integrated into a line with injection moulding machines of all well-known brands (KraussMaffei, Engel, Battenfeld, Arburg and others).
